Is Money Really God?
Or Just a Game We Don’t Know How to Play?
Wealth Letter is Brought to You by:
There’s an uncomfortable truth about money:
💰 The world judges you based on how much you have.
If you're rich, people respect you.
If you're broke, people avoid you.
If you lose money, even close friends disappear.
This isn’t just modern society—it’s human nature.
Acharya Chanakya said it centuries ago:
"A man will lose his friends, family, and status in the absence of money, but they will all return once he earns it again."
So, if money controls relationships, status, and opportunity… isn’t money basically God?
Or is it just a game that most people don’t know how to play?
We grow up believing a simple formula:
More money = More happiness.
But let’s look at reality:
Wealthy people still struggle with stress, anxiety, and depression.
Lottery winners often end up broke again.
Celebrities with millions still feel empty inside.
Why?
Because money is a tool, not a destination.
If money was truly God, the richest people in the world would be the happiest. But they’re not.
Which means... we’ve been sold an illusion.
Why Chasing Money Feels Like Running on a Treadmill

Resharing this image because it relevant here
Ever heard of the Hedonic Treadmill?
It’s the idea that no matter how much money you make, your desires always increase.
When you’re broke, you just want enough to survive.
When you make $100K, you want a bigger house.
When you make $1M, you start feeling poor next to billionaires.
Example: Look at high-income professionals—doctors, lawyers, executives. They make $250K+ per year, but many are still living paycheck to paycheck because they keep upgrading their lifestyle.
Their problem isn’t money. It’s the game they’re playing.
They think they’re chasing freedom, but really, they’re just:
➡️ Earning more → Spending more → Trapping themselves at a higher level.
If you don’t master money, money will master you.
The Mindset Shift That Creates True Wealth
So, if more money doesn’t make you free… what does?
It comes down to one shift:
👉 Stop measuring success by how much you earn. Start measuring it by how much time you control.
💡 Real wealth isn’t about being rich. It’s about not having to trade time for money.
How to Apply This Today:
Create “FU” Money 💸
Save at least 6-12 months of living expenses.
This gives you the power to walk away from bad jobs, bad clients, or bad relationships.
Own Assets, Not Just Income 📈
Wealthy people don’t just make money—they make money work for them.
Start by investing 20%+ of your income in things that grow (stocks, real estate, businesses).
Live Below Your Means (Even When You Don’t Have To) 🏡
Most people increase spending every time they get a raise.
Instead, keep your expenses the same while your income grows. That’s how you build real wealth.
Example:
A person earning $50K and saving 50% is wealthier than someone earning $500K and spending it all.
One has freedom. The other is stuck pretending to be rich.
Stop Playing the Wrong Game
Most people play the Consumer Game:
Make money → Spend money → Repeat.
Wealthy people play the Investor Game:
Make money → Buy assets → Let assets make money for them.
🔄 The real game isn’t about how much you make.
It’s about how little you need to work to sustain your ideal life.
Actionable Challenge for You:
Ask yourself:
👉 How much money do you actually need to live your dream life?
(Not society’s version. Not Instagram’s version. Your version.)
💡 If you don’t know your number, you’ll keep chasing money forever.
Final Thought: Is Money God?
Buddha once said:
"Money is the worst discovery of human life, but the most trusted material to test human nature."
Money isn’t God. But in this world, it’s treated like one.
The trick isn’t to worship it.
The trick is to master it.
Control money, so it doesn’t control you.
Use money, so it doesn’t use you.
Buy freedom, not status.
Because in the end, wealth isn’t about numbers. It’s about how much of your life you actually own.
